Challenge

A leading global telecommunications company was managing over a thousand applications across services like billing, content delivery, mobile backend systems, and internal tooling. These apps were scattered across teams and environments, leading to fragmented deployment pipelines, inconsistent service configurations, and siloed monitoring setups. As the company pushed for faster delivery while maintaining compliance and availability, the lack of unified observability became a key operational risk.

Solution

Facing sprawling infrastructure and duplicated effort across development teams, the telecom giant adopted a9s Cloud Foundry to centralize deployments, enforce governance, and streamline platform operations. To standardize application backing services, they rolled out the a9s Data Services Bundle, providing them with production-grade instances of a9s MariaDB, a9s PostgreSQL, a9s KeyValue (Valkey), and a9s Search, all running on VMs with BOSH-based automation for lifecycle management.

To bring consistent observability to their growing ecosystem of apps and services, they added a9s Prometheus, which provisions dedicated, VM-based Prometheus environments on demand and includes Grafana by default. This eliminated the need for teams to run and manage their own monitoring stacks while enabling robust metrics collection and alerting across hybrid and multi-cloud setups.

Impact
